Brutalism
Australia is delivering a fucking nice band again. BTBG is a band formed in 2004 and now releasing a 4 track EP. A heavy mixture of grind and death metal and I mean furious! The songs are short but full of overwhelming power. Not only blasting with fast parts but also some melodic mid parts or a balladwise intro in the last track, although the begin drumming sound similair to Slayers "Criminally Insane". Anyway, this EP shows the diverse musical direction of BTBG in a few minutes and really nice to hear. Looking forward for a full length!!

Vomit Zine
From the first riff to the last blast, BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE crushes everything on its way!! “Still Human, Still Humane?” is made of 4 tracks for 10 minutes of incredible Grind Core!!! From old NAPALM DEATH to EXHUMED and from BLOOD DUSTER to CANNIBAL CORPSE, BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE knows perfectly how to mix the styles and to create a killer mood for a killer MCD!! The only reproach I would say is probably the sound, not clear enough, but it’s ok anyway! Finally a very nice discovery, and I’m looking forward for a full length release from BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE!!!

The Nocturnal Battle of Chariots
I like that kind of surprise, but when I think that the CD with just 4 songs (less than 10 minutes) came all the way from Sydney - wow, mega respect to this crazy Australian grinders! Now is the time to write couple words about young and promising band Beyond Terror Beyond Grace. It was founded in 2004 and now they record this modest debut EP, but what you can be sure is that content of "Still Human, Still Humane?" will catch the ears for more than just two listenings.

The album starts and I'm dead! They combine brutality and a heavy weight of death metal with a little bit of catchy things, punk'ish simplicity and defiant grind core attitude. The opener is just like that I write above - it kills! Two kinds of vocal expression (traditional growls and swashbuckling croaks) are the indispensable elements of every song, both fits perfect to this genre. Whole EP is one huge music madness which is unforeseeable, just like in short, fast & furious "Living A Lie", which is an essence of brutal and energetic death metal. Seems that they have inexhaustible power and I wish that album could be much longer! Hope Grindhead will find a distributions for Europe - Ebolie and BTBG are great examples of brilliant bands worthy of checking out! 8/10

Metal Rage
The next band is again from Down Under and this time it’s Beyond Terror Beyond Grace that is going to try to rip away my eardrums. Well, I really do not know anything about this band, but it seemed they have been trying together for some years now, and this is the new material, after a short period of stop.

The total length of the 4 tracks that are represented on this promotional EP is somewhere around 10 minutes, but those 10 minutes are really monstrous! The musical style is fast-forward grind with touches of Napalm Death and Nasum, but mixed with the typical Aussie madness vocals, something I really appreciate! This band is from the same label as Ebolie, which I had to review earlier from this label, but this is really 10 times better!
I’m going to await the full-length album of this band, if there is ever going to be one. Until then, I’ll just go completely wild with 10 minutes on repeat!!!! I give my compliments, although I would have liked somewhat more music on an album. Score: 80%

I was starting to develop a phobia of bands with four words in their name, but then luckily I got my ears on this. Hailing from Australia, BEYOND TERROR BEYOND GRACE deliver punishing, blasting heaviness with an assault of grindcore and death metal. The vocals are an evil sounding high shriek that would also go well with black metal paired with low, guttural vocals. Most of this four song E.P. is fast, I think this band would appeal to fans of early NAPALM DEATH. The recording is a little rough, but it's not lacking aggression or energy. Like any good grindcore band, these guys aren't trying to amaze you with their technical musical ability, they are pretty much trying to kill you.

Pop Devourer Webzine
Beyond Terror Beyond Grace are Sydney’s youngest and newest Grindcore outfit, hastily picked up by Grindhead Records to release this, their debut four-track EP. Two things stand out on this EP: the diverse vocal style of Bart and the blistering drumming of 16 year old Steve. The songs themselves rarely run over two minutes, packed with brutal blast beats, impressive fills, thrashy guitar riffs and intelligent lyrics.

Stylistically the group draw from both old and new schools of Grindcore – fusing that of old Napalm Death and Discharge with newer groups such as Rotten Sound, Pig Destroyer and Circle of Dead Children. From witnessing their first live performance I can safely say we are going to hear a lot more from this ambitious young group, who have the talent, passion and dedication to make a big impact on the Australian (and eventually international) metal scene... Definitely a group to check out.

The first words of ‘Murderer’ read ‘Slit, cut, left gaping open’ so I think you can probably guess what sort of sound that Beyond Terror Beyond Grace emit! If you like your filth to sound and remind of Blood Duster, Cannibal Corpse (although not as heavy or complex, there are hints in the twiddles and Chris Barnes reminding rasps), Autopsy, Exhumed and the gory like, then I think you have a quick listen to this EP from the Australian band.
This is pretty much straight forward, no frills old school style death metal with tinges of thrash and grind on either side, the best of which being the short ‘Living a lie’ which ends with some cool chugs. ‘No further existence’ also confirms to me a heavy influence from Carcass in places, with a few black metal leanings as well.

Beyond Terror Beyond Grace need a bigger production than this to really hit the songs home, but the foundations are definitely laid with this one, and the playing is pretty tight throughout.

Pull The Chain
Beyond Terror Beyond Grace are a new underground act coming from the end of the world (at least for us as this act comes from the Australian underground). They play what you may regard as some kind of a cool mixture between old school European death metal, brutal death and raw grindcore metal. See some Napalm Death background mixed in with old Carcass spirit... the oppressive atmosphere and a pleasant old school surrounding are here to make you feel you’re in front of a cool / enjoyable good underground grind-core death metal act. The right balance between the usual influences and the needed identity is delivered throughout the four songs of this demo with a special mention for the creeping «No Further Existence». In fact the material recorded on «Still Human, Still Humane» is quite mobile and versatile for a band of this nature and the overall performance is simply better than what you have the use to listen to with most of the grind acts. A nice discovery.

Attack Fanzine
Dual vocal death metal from the abysses of Australia. The band started out doing Napalm Death and Discharge covers, and while those influences still are there the band has now landed somewhere between Skinless and Cannibal Corpse. The chugging rhythms and rapid machine gun drumming succeed each other many times over throughout these four tracks, as are the grunting and screamed vocals.

Unlike many bands in this genre Beyond Terror, Beyond Grace deal with socially aware lyrics. Mainly about the earth being in crisis and soon coming towards the end, but also daily human misery. Somewhat wrapped in a metal suit, but still not your typical blood and guts, even though the first track is actually about a murderer.

The Metal Forge
Beyond Terror Beyond Grace are relative newcomers to the thriving metal scene. These Blue Mountains (N.S.W., Australia) grindcore heads formed in August 2004 originally belting out Napalm Death and Discharge covers. The seeds of originality were sewn and the band set to work. Guitarist Ben Terror left the band for most of February and March 2005 before rejoining his band mates, vocalist B Ware, bassist Alex and drummer Steve. Mid way through 2005, they recorded their first EP, Still Human, Still Humane? for Grindhead Records, and soon after, they took their relentless grind to the live arena.

The old school, gritty production certainly leaves no uncertainty as to the influences of this quartet. The likes of Terrorizer and Repulsion can also be added to the aforementioned Napalm Death and Discharge. The four tracks on offer, of which the crushing Murderer and always changing No Further Existence were the first two written, twist and turn through razor edge riffs, blasting drums and guttural vocals. The brutal Who Must Die is slighted more towards extreme death metal, whilst the hyper blasts of Living A Lie swing the pendulum in favour of grindcore.

It’s short and extreme and definitely not for everyone. The four tracks of this EP are over in less than ten minutes and as far as grind/death goes, they definitely leave you wanting more. It may not be the most refined or outstanding slab of metal I’ve heard, but it sure as hell registers enough interest to want to hear more from these guys.

Supreme Brutality
Formed in August 2004 Australian Beyond Terror Beyond Grace started out doing Napalm Death and Discharge covers, but the band quickly began writing some original material. The music is a hybrid of grindcore and death metal. It's a little hard to proper judge the music based on the little more than nine minutes Still Human, Still Humane? lasts, but all four songs are fairly good. In particular "Murderer" and "Living a Lie" is worthwhile.

The band knows how to vary the music so it doesn't tend to get boring. There's nothing new under the sun here, but the band have some good ideas which plenty make up for this. It would be interesting to hear what Beyond Terror Beyond Grace sound like with a better sound as Still Human, Still Humane? appear slightly blurry, but it's actually not that odd since it's their 2005 demo that has been re-released. But all in all not a bad debut EP which promise well for what to come.
