Reviews
Unchallenged Hate
I don't know how they do it but Razorback
Records just keeps putting out some great albums! This latest release from
Spanish sickos Gruesome Stuff Relish is one incredible slab of goregrind/horror
that draws influences old and new school bands alike. Everything about Teenage
Giallo Grind from the processed "frog stuck in a sewer pipe" and high vocals
down to the overall production itself reminded me a lot of Haemorrhage on their
Grume album...which is definately not a bad thing if you think about it. Come to
think of it, both GSR and Haemorrhage are from Spain...maybe they hung around
each other a bit? Who knows! Another thing that deserves attention is the cover
art, properly listed in the album's layout as "stolen by Billy Nocera". Some may
dismiss this artwork as a rejected Count Chocula/Boo-berry picture, but to me, I
believe it gives an overall idea of what your ears will expect once you submit
yourself to this thirty-track/thirty-two minute and forty-two second gore
masterpiece. One more thing: the last track entitled "It's the End of the World
(as we know it) is NOT a cover of the classic R.E.M. song, but how funny would
that be? Overall, if you like your gore with no frills, be sure to pick this
album up from your local cool record store or drop by the Razorback Records
website and order yourself a copy. You will find no mosh and no "chug chug"
riffage, just pure unadulterated horror and terror! -T.Copeland

After the split with BRUTALLY REIGN SUPREME
(ex the SEXORCIST) this is the new opus on CD professionally made on the
excellent grindcore label Razorback records. 30 songs (yeah, 30 songs) for a
total time of 33 minutes. No needs for me to develop more than that the aim of
the band: they come, they play, they scoth your ass on the floor. Over. There
are more of bands like GRUESOME STUFF RELISH now according to me, and one of the
big influences that can be felt in this CD is of course the old CARCASS 'symphonie
sof sickness' album and for the sound quality this is near from the swedish
death metal bands like ENTOMBED for example. For the lyrics and the vocals, just
imagine that you have some stuff from both IMPETIGO and HAEMORRHAGE. i know some
of you will think; hey what's coming new from this band?, but we are far from
this kind of thought due to the fact that all these are dead or had changed
their style to make soup metal shit. GRUESOME STUFF RELISH is one of the gore
splatter grind core band that for sure is going to give some punch in the
udnerground scene, with some new musical orientation, in the vein of the olders.
This is not under CARCASS like what i read somewhere. They are beginners and
there is also one member of REPUGNANCE in it. Really this is a good grindcore
album that you wil loffen listen to. And I will even say that razorback records
has since 2 years only good feelings about the releases to produce. Just to give
you an idea I read that the next releases should be BIRDFLESH, GHOUL, and
MACHETAZO.
