Reviews

Actually, I’m not for this kind of recordings, so, I was little bit skeptic before listening to the final result of this album, even more, being Fleshgrind a brutal death band. You know, seldom do bands in the style like this kind of recordings. I have to tell that after several listenings, that skepticism became total madness since this live record is damn demolishing. Just by listening to it, I imagine what people watching them could feel. I’m really a privileged man who could watch this band alive and a man who knows what they get up to on the stage, being this strengthened if I say Fleshgring is one of my favorite bands into Brutal Death Metal style.

Ok, this is the performance of the year 2000 the band did in the more-than-known Fuck The Commerce Fest. – if you have the chance to go next year, do it!. What can I say? The only negative point I find is that the recording is too short not reaching 20 minutes – the time they played! I keep on smashing my head against the wall following the rhythm of this tech Brutal Death with heavy tempos and with the groovy feeling that will not allow you to stop. A rhythmic base blowing bodies by the incredible bass lines, the blunt drums and the hyper guttural voice of Mr. Lipscomp – an animal on stage, fucking demolishing and bloodcurdling with his deeper-than-hell-itself voice.

Fine then, what about the set list? A true masterpiece including the best stuff of the repertory of their best period, you know, that of their demos. On one hand, the ’93 demo ‘Holy Pedophile’ featuring the now-forever-classic ‘Angerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr’!!! And on the other hand, we do also find the well-know ‘Sorrow Breeds Hatred’ and ‘Bleed On Me’ from the demo under the same title. Some more tracks to be found are ‘Litany of Murder’ from their ’97 album ‘Destined For Defilement’ or ‘The Supreme Art Of
Derangement’ from their last album ‘The Seeds Of Abysmal Torment’, released the same year that took place the festival we’re talking about. Yeah, a set list including the best stuff of the band. We all are looking forward the release of the two demos into digital format to enjoy Fleshgrind’s best period. A CD that will be released through United Guttural under the title of ‘demo Days’. -Bloodcifery
